This easy knitting pattern includes step-by-step instructions for crafting a custom dog bed using basic stitches.

Treat your pooch to a new resting place with this fantastically creative design from designer Nicola Valiji. The pattern uses most of your basic knitting stitches and gives you the chance to get to grips with shaping. Remember to use machine-washable stuffing so you can easily clean your project.

What do I need?

Yarn: Deramores Studio DK, shades Oatmeal, two 100g balls, Gingerbread, one 100g ball, Chocolate, small amount
Needles: 4mm, 4.5mm
Safety toy stuffing
Safety toy eyes: large, two
Tapestry needle

Sizing

Outer circumference: 100cm
Inner circumference: 50cm
Height: 28cm

Top knit tips

This pattern uses both the knit front and back (kfb) increase which is worked into one stitch, and the make one (m1) increase which is worked between two stitches. Although they both add one stitch, the two techniques are not interchangeable so check the pattern to see which one you need to do.

To make the bed bigger, just keep increasing the Middle section pieces as set, and make a longer Side piece to fit.
