For an interesting project to stretch your skill set, including a Norwegian star in Fair Isle and heel shaping, here is a Christmas stocking that is an excellent challenge piece. This festive decoration is knitted flat from the cuff down and is seamed up after. It is mainly stocking stitch, but includes a bit of rib, slip stitch colourwork and moss stitch, too. Want to supersize your stocking? Simply use additional DK yarn to lengthen the straight leg or foot sections – your little ones will be delighted when they discover what Santa has brought them!
