Top knit tip

When you are ready to join in a new colour, lay the new yarn over the existing one and between your two needles with the tail to the left, bring the new shade under and then over the existing colour, and knit the stitch with the new yarn; it is essential that you twist the yarns to prevent a hole from forming where the two colours join.
