Top knit tips

Bobbles will add an impressive flourish to your work, but they couldn't be easier to make. The trick is to increase multiple stitches on one stitch, work back and forth a few times and then decrease back down to one again. The more increases you work, the bigger your bobble will be.

Slide the recommended number of stitches onto your cable needle. It's important to do this purlwise, as this will ensure your stitches are straight. Once your stitches are on the cable needle, place it at the front or back of your work depending on the instruction given in the pattern. Then, return to your knitting. When the pattern takes you back to the cable needle, you can either move the stitches onto your left hand needle or knit directly from the cable needle.
