With three weeks to go until Yarn Shop Day, we hope you are all making plans to go along and support your local yarn shop. Many will be offering discounts, fun workshops and opportunities to meet fellow knitters and crocheters. It’s also a great chance to support the British wool industry as well as an ideal opportunity to buy yarn for your summer projects!
WHAT’S OCCURING?
Fancy taking part in a ‘Mega Knit’? The Wool Cabin at Clacton, Essex aim to fill their shop with as many knitters/crocheters as possible between 2-3pm. There will also be cakes for sale with all proceeds going to charity. Their Clacton and Frinton shops will be beautifully decorated with yarn-based bunting and they are offering free pattern vouchers and exclusive discounts.
NEEDLES and PINS in Broughton Astley, Leicestershire are inviting customers to come along with their needles and yarn, for a knit, natter and piece of cake. They are offering 10% discount on the day (excluding yarns already reduced) and the chance to meet fellow crafters!
Franklin’s in Colchester, Essex will be welcoming two special visitors; King Cole’s Spike the Hedgehog, who is on a mission to raise the profile of local yarn shops and Colchester Madam Mayor Theresa Higgins, who will open the event at 10.30am. Customers can expect tea and cake, a free raffle with amazing prizes, goodie bags and discounts throughout the store. A knitting tutor and her pupils will be there to show off their skills and help out. There will be a chance to take part in a ‘make and take’ workshops and meet the Lets Knit team too! See you there!
