Get excited for Crochet Club!
- Let’s Knit
You might’ve heard that there’s a brand new magazine about to hit the shops soon – Crochet Club, your fast-track to yarn success! We can’t wait to get our hands on it, but in the meantime we got the lowdown from the fab editorial team who’ve been working hard to put it together, who reveal their best bits, top tips and some insider secrets ahead of the launch…
Elena Thompson is keen to emphasise that the magazine is like one big happy family. She tells us, “the best thing for me about Crochet Club is the fact that it’s a magazine that brings people together through the power of crochet – over time, it'll become a community in itself.” She's also been really excited about the projects, telling us, “every time I saw a project come into the office, I felt inspired to make it myself – and I hope that readers do too!”
Elena tells us she's loved talking to different crocheters and hearing their stories, which has made the job particularly special. “It's been a really great challenge for the whole team and I think we can all say that we’ve enjoyed coming up with projects for the designers to make and researching all the different trends within the crochet world”. And when those projects come to fruition, they're met with pure joy, as Alice Salter shares, “seeing parcels full of little crochet creatures come through the office has been wonderful!”
“We have worked really hard to product the first issue, and are incredibly proud of it – we can't wait to get it to our readers!” says Sarah Crosland, Crochet Club's Editor. Putting together the magazine has been a team effort, adds Elena, but she's excited to see the connections that will grow between readers; “it'll be truly heartwarming to see them building up a sense of community through the magazine – that's what I'm most excited about!” And that's not forgetting everyone's wonderful creations! Alice says, “I’m looking forward to seeing everyone's responses and your makes as you follow along with the patterns in Crochet Club.”
Taking up a new craft is such an exciting experience – and the team are passionate about getting more people to have a go at crochet. “Crochet Club is fantastic for beginners, as it features patterns for a whole range of skill levels, so you can work your way up with just one issue,” says Elena. When it comes to projects, Alice had some words of wisdom to share: “Make sure to start with a project that you really like the look of – if you’re not in love with it then chances are it’ll never get finished!” We’re so excited about the launch of Crochet Club and can’t wait to show you everything we’ve got in store.
