What you need to know

This easy pattern uses basic knitting stitches to create a cute set of budgies.

Nicky Fijalkowska’s knitted birds are quite a pair! Leonard loves nothing more than having philosophical conversations with his cuttlefish while Josie enjoys singing her heart out to classical music. Together they like to snuggle up on their perch and compliment one another on their beautiful bright feathers. These budgies are great fun to knit and, being so small, they’re the ideal stashbuster!

What do I need?

Yarn: DK, shades Light Blue, 9g; Cream, 4g; Silver, small amount; Blue, 5g; Black, small amount; Yellow, 18g; Light Pink, small amount

Top knit tip

There are only two rows between each colour change on Leonard, so carry the yarn up the side of the work to avoid having too many ends to sew in.
