The Love Darg is The People’s Friend’s charitable appeal. Its name comes from an old Scottish phrase meaning “work done for love”, and throughout its long life it has stayed true to that founding principle.

In 2022 the charity supported Knit for Peace by asking knitters and crocheters to get involved by creating a dressing-gown or jacket. These knitted and crocheted items were then distributed to over 200 outlets, in the UK and abroad to keep people warm during the winter months.
