Working In The Round
How To Knit
In the past knitting was a skill that was handed down through the generations, but due to its dip in popularity in the 1980s a generation emerged who weren't particularly interested in learning how to knit. At the same time knitting was no longer taught in schools, so suddenly there was a shortage of people who knew how to knit and could pass the skills on.
Fortunately, thanks to the huge surge in the popularly of knitting that's taken place in the last few years there are now plenty of ways to learn how to knit. One of the best ways is by using video tutorials. You'll find a large collection of these available for free here on our website. They are ideal for learning how to knit because you can see exactly how to move from one step to the next, and you can learn at your own pace. Each video is brief and to the point which makes it easy to watch them over and over again until you get the hang of the stitch in question.
Knitting For Beginners
Knitting for beginners needn't be dull, as there are plenty of patterns in Let's Knit magazine and amongst the free patterns on our website that are fun and interesting but also suitable for beginners. Once you've discovered how to cast on and work the basic knit and purl stitches there are so many fabulous things you can make, and if you add to that increasing and decreasing techniques the possibilities are endless!
