Knitting Patterns
The most important part of any knitting magazine is the patterns, and at Let’s Knit we pride ourselves on having knitting patterns for all styles, sizes and skill levels. Every issue features garments that are simple, classic designs with a fun, modern twist, plus accessories, homewares, baby patterns, toys and at least one crochet pattern per issue. As well as our stylish designs, knitters love our clear, user friendly format and our practical tips, which help to make each pattern simple to follow. Each month we cover a huge range of techniques: colourwork, cables, felting, working in the round and lace, to name but a few; but always with helpful guidance in the form of step-by-step illustrations and practical explanations.
Let’s Knit is also well known for its quick knits. We were the first knitting magazine to include short, speedy knits as part of our regular repertoire of knitting patterns, and our readers love them for their accessibility and the sense of instant gratification they get from projects that knit up in no time.
Crochet
Crochet has grown enormously in popularity since Let’s Knit magazine’s launch in 2007. There has always been an element of crochet in the magazine – we feel it goes hand in hand with knitting and can be used to enhance knitted items beautifully. However, once you have learned the basic stitches it is only a short leap to being able to create something that’s exclusively crocheted, and with the help of our step-by-step diagrams, beginners’ patterns and free covermounted crochet hooks we have helped many a knitter make the exciting transition into the realm of crochet! Every issue of Let’s Knit now features a dedicated crochet pattern, many of which are suitable for beginners, and we also give away several free books of crochet patterns throughout the year.
Needle Felting
As well as traditional knitting and crochet techniques, regular readers of Let’s Knit will have the opportunity to try out a host of other exciting crafting techniques that our talented designers have used to enhance their projects. For example, Amanda Walker created a beautiful knitted footstool for us and decorated it with needle felting. You can find the project for the Agnes footstool in our free patterns section – just click on the patterns tab.
Forum
While looking around our website why not pay a visit to our friendly knitting forum? It’s a great place to chat to likeminded knitters. Every month we pose questions and challenges for our forum members and award prizes for the most impressive entries, as well as printing the best of their comments and creations in the Net Natter section of the magazine. And if you’ve got a problem with your knitting our members are always on hand with words of advice and encouragement. It’s the friendliest knitting forum on the web, so why not stop by?
