What you need to know

Learn how to knit two colourwork cosies with Siân Brown's knitting pattern.

We at Let’s Knit Together like to celebrate all things British and there’s nothing more British than a good old cup of tea, so why not make your next brew the pride of the nation by crafting a stylish cosy? The insulating qualities of the superbly soft alpaca and merino blend yarn will keep your tea warmer for longer so it’s a practical project too. The two designs feature simple but distinctly different stitches, one using rib and moss stitch to create a tweed pattern and the other using garter stitch and honeycomb.

What do I need?

Yarn: Rooster Almerino Aran, shades Custard, Brighton Rock, Cornish, Lagoon, Gooseberry, one 50g ball of each
Needles: 4.5mm, 5mm
Crochet hook: 4mm

Sizing

Tweed: 22cm wide (circumference 44cm), 18 cm deep
Honeycomb: 26cm wide (circumference 52cm) x 18cm deep

Top knit tip

If you’re not a crocheter but would still like to edge the handle and spout openings, we suggest picking up and knitting the stitches or using blanket stitch to finish the edges neatly.
