Knit a twiddle muff for dementia patients with textured yarn and stitch patterns and added embellishments - designed by Val Pierce
If you’ve heard the word but never seen one, this is a twiddle muff. These easy-to-make projects are ideal for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s as the textured embellishments can help keep their hands and minds active. They’re also suitable as fidget toys for children, but be sure to sew on the pieces really securely. Many hospitals, hospices and support charities are requesting knitted twiddle muffs so look online for a cause near you. This design features beaded details and sew-on flowers but you can get really creative when it comes to adding your embellishments.
