Top knit tips

If you have too many stitches to fit comfortably on straight needles when you're knitting the Neckband, try changing to a circular needle, but remember to knit the piece flat.

The appearance of this stitch is reminiscent of woven baskets, but it is actually created using a simple combination of knit and purl stitches. The repeat is worked across eight stitches, and it's easy for beginners to master, too. It's a good choice for any project, whether it's accessories or homewares such as blankets, and it adds a great texture to this finished garment.
