This colourful cardi from Susie Johns is a wonderful way to use up spare oddments of DK yarn!
Whether you decide to treat yourself to a bumper bundle of co-ordinated yarn from your favourite yarn shop or to raid your stash for all kinds of oddments, this striped cardigan is destined to bring some colour into your life. When choosing yarn the idea is ‘the brighter the better’ and, as the cardigan is knitted in stripes of just one or two rows, even the smallest oddments can be incorporated. Wide ribbed bands in a neutral grey complement the coloured stripes to good effect. Miriam is loose and comfortable – a perfect cover-up at any time of the year – but the wide band at the waistline helps to create a flattering shape and the small buttons produce a dainty finish.
