Knit an octopus for a premature baby
We love knitting for charity here at LKT HQ, and hospital maternity wards specifically call out for toys that are safe for use around premature babies. This sweet little octopus has been designed with this in mind – not only is he soft and huggable, but to premature babies his soft, coiled tentacles feel similar to the umbilical cord and provide something for their tiny hands to grasp onto. This not only comforts them but reduces the risk of little hands tugging on the various medical bits and bobs that might surround them on the ward.
