What you need to know

Cosy up in Helen Ardley’s two-colour alpaca mitts

To make these mittens, you’re going to need to know how to knit and purl, but we’ll take you through all the other elements involved. The colour change at the thumb requires you to use a method called intarsia, which involves using separate balls of yarn for each colour section on your row.
