What you need to know

Make Áine Marriott’s classic ted

This little gent is wonderfully plump and looks adorable in his knitted bow tie and dungarees. The outfit is worked in one piece with the body, with little additions such as the straps, belt and boot tops. This means you have fewer pieces to sew together at the end – win! Share your photos of your finished teddies on Facebook, Instagram or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Top Knit Tips

“Tease the filling before stuffing your toy to avoid clumps and get a nice, smooth finish” LK Deputy Editor, Adrienne Chandler

Embroidered straight stitches are really versatile and are ideal for faces on toys. Sewing them really closely together is perfect for noses, while shorter stitches allow you to create a curved smile. If you’re not very confident, practise stitching on a test swatch first, as a wonky face can make or break a knitted toy.
