Alternatively, if you know an adult dog lover who would appreciate a novelty Christmas gift, just keep working the scarf section until you are happy with the length.

Top knit tips
In order to successfully stuff your sausage dog, it is essential that you tease out your stuffing beforehand. This will prevent unsightly lumps and bumps. Another tip is to take your time. You need to strike the perfect balance between over and under stuffing your project, so don’t be afraid to start again if your scarf doesn’t sit right.
If you are worried about using toy eyes for this project, another option is to embroider the dog’s features.
