We Are So Excited For The Spring Knitting & Stitching Show!

We Are So Excited For The Spring Knitting & Stitching Show!

We can’t wait for the best event in the knitters’ calendar!

We are already counting down to one of our favourite knitting shows hitting the capital city once again! The event will take place on the 1st-4th March at Olympia London and as always will be an unmissable weekend for us yarn addicts. The Knitting & Stitching Shows are the UK’s biggest textile art and crafts event and are created by Twistedthread.

The events offer hundreds of workshops, demonstrations and interactive features, curated galleries showcasing the work of leading textile artists and groups from all over the world, and hundreds of specialist craft companies selling essential supplies. This year promises to be the best yet with over 100 textile craft and workshops, free demonstrations and more than 200 specialist suppliers selling textile craft essentials.

This year The Spring Knitting & Stitching Show has teamed up with the Betty Blythe Vintage Tea Room in west London’s Brook Green to hold The Knitted Tea Room competition. You’re being asked to knit or crochet life-sized items from cream scones to teapots, anything you might find in a tea room.

You can design your own items or use a pattern, and a tea cosy pattern by Monica Russel of The Knit Knacks is available to download from The Spring Knitting & Stitching Show competition page. The judges will be looking for beautifully crafted and innovative pieces. The prizes are being donated by the Betty Blythe Vintage Tea Room and will go to the top three crafters. First prize is a Victorian-themed afternoon tea for eight people, while second prize is a Vintage Afternoon tea for six, and the third prize is a cream tea for four. Delicious!

You need to register your entries on the Spring show’s competition page and you can enter up to five pieces. They should be submitted before 23rd February to: The Knitted Tea Room competition, Twistedthread, 58 White Lion St, London N1 9PP, or you can take them to the show to be judged on Thursday 1st March.
