Top Summer Yarns & Patterns From We Are Knitters!

As you might expect, Alberto Bravo, We Are Knitters’ creative director and co-founder, is passionate about yarn. We chat to him about knitting and style, as well as the patterns he predicts will be huge this summer…

What’s inspiring you as creative director right now?
Textures! Being able to mix different types of yarn is always inspiring. The result looks much different than most knit pieces. XXXL wool is also always really satisfying to work with.

Do you knit and, if so, what’s in your knitting bag at the moment?
Of course I knit! Although I must confess I don’t knit as much as I would like. I’m still working on a huge blanket I started a couple of months ago. I guess it will be ready for next winter!

What are your favourites from the We Are Knitters S/S collection?
This year we launched a couple of sweaters and tees with the sleeves and back wide open. I think they are very feminine and delicate. We also did a sweater and a cardi with tons of textures thanks to the stitch used. Those are my favourites for sure!

What do you predict will be the Next Big Thing for fashion knitters?
We’ve just launched a new yarn called The Wave that varies its thickness along the same thread. The final result looks amazingly beautiful and knitters have gone totally crazy about it. We had just a small quantity of stock but, be ready, you’ll see tonnes of it this coming season!
