Knit A Green Heart For Climate Change Awareness!

Knit A Green Heart For Climate Change Awareness!

Join the Show The Love campaign!

The Climate Coalition is raising awareness of climate change and this February you can get involved in the Show the Love campaign

“Along with our sister organisations Stop Climate Chaos Cymru and Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, The Climate Coalition is a group of over 130 organisations — including the National Trust, Women’s Institute, Oxfam, and RSPB — reaching across the UK to show our love for all the things we want to protect from climate change and asking politicians to put aside their differences and commit to doing whatever is necessary to protect them,” explains Lorena Vila, Campaigns Executive at The Climate Coalition.

Every February, the organisation runs its Show The Love campaign, which is represented by the green heart motif. The green heart encourages people to think about the things they love that could be at risk due to climate change. “It’s is an annual celebration of all that we love but could lose to climate change,” says Lorena. “Together we can protect the people, places, and life we love by encouraging world leaders and the UK Government to shift to clean and secure energy within a generation.”

We’ve designed an easy-knit green heart pattern that you can download for free here. Knit our green heart pattern, take a photo and share it on social media using the hashtag #showthelove

Why not get your MP involved by posting them your heart or tagging them in your photo on social media along with a message asking them to help protect the things you love from climate change?

Your support of climate change awareness doesn’t have to stop here. Look out for news on The Climate Coalition’s Week Of Action in July. Click here to see what went on in 2017 and to stay up-to-date with the latest news.
