Christmas Jumper Day
13th December
Grab your diary, a pen, and your favourite needles because it’s almost Christmas Jumper Day! Save the Children’s ‘make the world better with a sweater’ campaign encourages people from across the country to wear a Christmas jumper on Friday 13th December, in exchange for a £1 donation to help improve the lives of our world’s vulnerable children. There are many ways to get involved: you can dig out a retro favourite, tinsel up an ordinary sweater or even buy a Christmas jumper. However, dear knitters - there is also the option to knit your own full-sized or miniature jumper to garnish your Christmas tree with. The mini knitted jumper patterns were designed exclusively by the lovely Debbie Bliss, and the full-sized sweater is taken from Sue Stratford’s fabulous book: Merry Christmas Sweaters, boasting a cheeky snowman.
To download the free patterns, and for more information call 020 7012 6400, or visit www.christmasjumperday.org

Frankfurt Christmas Market
Until 22nd December
The Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham is one we look forward to every year. We believe the best way to tackle your Christmas shopping is with a glass of mulled wine in one hand, and a gingerbread man in the other – both of which you definitely won’t be short of here! While away the hours (and the cash) purchasing unique gifts, and make sure you keep an eye out for the Christmas Craft Market, too – where you’ll find endless handmade goods. For more details, call 0121 303 3008, or visit www.birmingham.gov.uk/frankfurtmarket
