What you need to know
Worked in 4-ply yarn, these socks are a lovely project for anyone ready to dip their toes into the world of sock construction.
Taken from Knit a Box of Christmas Socks by Julie Ann Lebouthillier, the Evergreen Socks are a cheerful little top-down adventure that combines classic sock knitting with just enough technique to keep things interesting. The pattern begins with a neat 1×1 twisted rib cuff, using knit through the back loop to give the ribbing a beautifully snug finish. From there, the leg is wonderfully straightforward stocking stitch, so you can settle into a satisfying rhythm while watching the stripes of colour take shape.
