We can’t believe we’re almost halfway through our Mystery Blanket already! In this fun fifth square you’ll be working a textured 3D effect known as bubble stitch. This pattern may sound complicated at first, but with a little care and attention we’re sure that even absolute beginners will be completing their squares in no time.

Bubble stitch is the name given to this fun 3D technique, which as you may have guessed, creates a bouncy, pronounced texture. It’s made by periodically knitting down into rows below the working row, which draws the stitches together into a domed shape. Check out Rosie’s technique video to see how bubble stitch comes together!
