What you need to know

Use DK yarn to knit this Tartan Square Motif by Nicola Valiji and knit your squares together to create a cosy blanket.

If you love a bit of colourwork, then this is the square to knit. This tartan design comes in two colourways and follows a chart throughout. So although the yarn changes may look intricate, if you can follow along with the chart, then this is a very achievable knit. This pattern is part of our Alpine Lap Blanket project. It includes six different squares made using a variety of stitch techniques, and there’s something for all skill levels. If you don’t fancy making a blanket, assemble a few of your favourite squares into a cushion cover or even a patch pocket on a cardi - go on, get creative!
