What you need to know

Also known as the king of the North Pole, Santa is something of an important figure in the Christmas Eve present-giving proceedings. This version is made using DK yarn and simple stitches, so he's well suited to novice knitters looking to have a go at changing colour, shaping and eyelet (see our Easy Eyelets panel). Choose a fleecy, textured yarn to add a realistic touch to Santa's beard and don't forget his bag of gifts for all the good knitters this Christmas Day.
