What you need to know

Use DK yarn to knit this Diagonal Lines Square Motif by Nicola Valiji and knit your squares together to create a cosy blanket.

Very simple, yet very effective! This diagonal pattern is made using basic knit and purl stitches, but creates an impressive design – especially if you use a colour changing yarn as we have here. This pattern is part of our Alpine Lap Blanket project. It includes six different squares made using a variety of stitch techniques, and there’s something for all skill levels. If you don’t fancy making a blanket, assemble a few of your favourite squares into a cushion cover or even a patch pocket on a cardi - go on, get creative!
