What you need to know

Commemorate Remembrance Sunday with this comfort doll soldier, complete with a camouflage uniform, poppy, and hat.

Over the next 12 months, we'll be releasing a brand-new comfort doll every month, and this month we're releasing a soldier in honour of Remembrance Sunday. Worked in DK yarn on 3mm needles, this beginner-friendly project is a lovely way to practise increasing with knit front and back (kfb), decreasing with knit two together (k2tog) and working simple stocking stitch. The camouflage pattern introduces easy three-colour stranded knitting, carrying unused yarns across the back of the work to create the uniform. You'll also practise shaping, gathering, seaming and embroidery to bring your little soldier to life.
