What you need to know

Upcycle the sleeves from an old knitted jumper or cardigan with our gorgeous duo of embroidered poppy sprays.

Fancy breathing new life into an old favourite? We have two styles for you to choose from – one featuring a large solitary bloom, and the other showing a group of flowers. The designs are worked in a mixture of satin, running and chain stitch. Remember these motifs could also be used to decorate socks or the hem of a jumper, scarf or hat to wear on the day. Wear yours on the second Sunday of November to pay tribute on Remembrance day.

Old knitted cashmere jumper or similar, or readymade fingerless mittens
White tissue paper
White cotton thread
10cm embroidery hoop
Yarn: DK, red, dark red, green, dark green and black, small amounts
Tapestry needle
