What you need to know

Val Pierce's pirate doll toy is the perfect step up for knitting beginners.

Although Lucky may appear to shipwrecked on a desert island, we all know it’s just the start of his adventures! It’s not just kids that love a rogue and he’s clearly been up to mischief – just look at all that swag! Have a go at stranded colourwork on Lucky’s hat, or use Swiss darning to add your motifs.

Top knit tips

Why not make up a whole motley crew for Lucky by varying the skin tone and garment shades?

For an authentic pirate look, make sure you oversew the patch onto the trousers with visible stitches.
