What you need to know

Here at Let’s Knit Together, we’re here to help the community every step of the way! If you’re struggling to work out parts of the designs within of our Vintage Pattern Library, then worry no more! We’ve pulled together some fantastic how-to guides that will teach you how to achieve the perfect fit, substitute yarn and convert needle sizes. Most of the patterns come in one size only, so use our helpful guides to make them fit you perfectly!

Pages 1-3: Get the Vintage Look
Use vintage patterns to recreate knitted styles from yesteryear. The vintage revival is still going strong and we are drawn to fashions and knitwear from the past. Each period has a distinctive style from the long length sweaters of the twenties, to lace and elegance of the 1930s. Think about the iconic knits from wartime fashions and cute, feminine shrugs and boleros from the 1950s. All these styles are enjoying a comeback and the original patterns are still out there to find. Some changes will need to be made before you cast on, so read on for our guide on how to master the art of vintage knitting.

Pages 4-5: Tailor Made
Adrienne Chandler shows you how to use increases and decreases to create the perfect fit and guides you through the maths and calculations to create a truly custom fit. Two main areas that often need attention are the waist and the bust. We show you how to shape the waist and add darts to the bust to make sure your garment looks the best it can be. Tape measures at the ready!

Knitting patterns are easily adaptable and can be tweaked and adjusted to accentuate our assets. We show you a few tips and tricks to create flattering projects that fit and look fabulous!
