With wall art everywhere Ella Austin's jolly Santa is bang on-trend. The background panel is simply stocking stitch stripes, with the lettering, hearts and Father Christmas added afterwards in cross-stitch. If you fancy a knit effect, work the chart by Swiss darning over the stitches, or if you’re feeling adventurous, go for intarsia! If time is precious, swap short horizontal stitches for crosses.
