What you need to know

Knit for a newborn with Sachiyo Ishii’s mini elephant PDF pattern.

This pair of elephant toys will look perfect in a loved one’s nursery and the added touch of fabric ears really brings them to life. We’ve used amigurumi eye beads, but you can swap these for embroidered French knots to keep it extra safe for little tots. If you’re using safety eyes that have washers, attach them before stuffing the body.

What do I need?

Yarn: DK blue, pink
Needles: 4mm
Fabric: 10cm square, pink and blue spotted
Amigurumi eye beads: 6mm
Stuffing
Tapestry needle

Sizing

14cm

Top stitch tip

For the elephant ears, cut and sew fabric where indicated on guide, right sides facing each other. Turn inside out. Encase fabric ear to knitted ear and sew together, folding knitted ear edge inwards. Attach cast-on edge of Ears to Body.
