What you need to know

Use DK yarn to knit this Alpine Lap Blanket by Nicola Valiji.

This beginner-friendly blanket knitting project is made up of six different designs. You can practise your colourwork and follow-along charts with our star and tartan squares. Try new stitches with a cable square, or have a go at eyelets with our lacy tree motif. If you don’t fancy making a blanket, you can assemble a few of your favourite squares into a cushion cover or even a patch pocket on a cardi - go on, get creative!

What you need

Yarn: Snowglobe Yarn Kit, DK, shades Leafy Green, Golden Yellow, Blush Pink, Snowy White, Santa Red, Variegated, four 22g balls of each
Needles: 4mm straight and 80cm circular (for edging)
Tapestry needle
