What you need to know

Craft a cute soft toy cat, designed for beginner knitters.

This stylish feline was made by Nicola Valiji from an original design by Louise Watling. Cleo’s fluffy pink shrug is knitted with a gorgeously soft fleecy yarn. With easy stripes and simple shaping, this pattern is ideal for knitters of all skill levels. Remember to sew on all the pieces really securely for safety reasons. You'll also find the pattern for Cleo's bestie, Rupert the Dog designed by Sachiyo Ishii, inside your download pack.

What do I need?

Yarn: DK, shades Beige, Brown, Fluffy Pink, Red
Needles: 3mm
Safety toy stuffing
Tapestry needle

Sizing

26cm long (nose to tail)

Top knit tip

As the stripes on the body change colour every two rows, you don’t need to cut the yarn each time. Instead, you can carry the shade you are not using up the side of the work, twisting the strands together when it’s time to switch colours. This saves you having to sew in lots of yarn tails at the end of your project.
