What you need to know

There's nothing so thrilling as completing your first garment and this soft and gentle cardi is perfect for beginners. Knitted up with 10mm needles in super chunky yarn, this clever pattern is worked sideways from sleeve cuff to sleeve cuff. It uses square panels of stocking stitch with moss stitch edges to produce a simple yet stylish top that's perfect for layering up during the change of seasons. The turned-out collar and single fastening add shape to make this a sure-fire wardrobe staple.

Yarn: Super Chunky, 7 (7, 8, 9, 12) x 50g (45m) balls or 315 (315, 360, 405, 540) m
