Pattern Updates

We know how frustrating it can be when a knitting project runs into problems. If we become aware of an error in one of our patterns, an instruction that's confusing, a discontinued yarn or just a piece of helpful advice, here's where we'll post it. Just click on the relevant cover.

Let's Knit! Magazine

Issue 23

  • Daniella [page 18]
  • Kaila [page 62]
  • Bobby [page 28]
  • Perdy (crystals & ice, crochet book) [page 30]
  • Pretty Presence (crochet book) [page 30]
  • Eric and Ernie [page 56]

Daniella

On Row 13 of the chart, there is a k2tog instruction missing. The last two sts of each repeat should be knitted together. The correct row 13 on the chart should read:
yfwd, k5, k2tog

Kaila

The yarn amounts given for Kaila have been doubled. The required amount is half of that stated and should read as folls:

Sirdar Supersoft Aran, shade 892 Peeka Blue (long sleeved version), 2 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4) 100g balls; shade 890 lollipop (short sleeved version), 2 (2, 2, 2, 2, 3) 10g balls

Bobby

There is an error with the needle size and 5mm needles should be used throughout

Perdy (crystals & ice, crochet book)

There is a slight error on the front section of the bag and Rnd 10 should read:
Rnd 10: Join in colour A, 1 ch, 1 dc in same ch, 1 dc in ea of next 8 ch, *2 dc in next ch, 1 dc in ea of next 8 ch, rep from * to end, sl st to first dc, do not fasten off – 80 dc

Pretty Presence (crochet book)

In the Pretty Presence pattern in the Christmas Crochet book there was a section missing on the instructions for the Flowers. There's an extra part for making the foundation loop. It should read

Flowers (make 3)
Make a foundation loop and 1ch

To create a foundation loop
When you create the foundation loop you need to do all of this:

Yoh twice, pull through to form loop, do not tighten as you will be working your first round into this foundation loop
Round 1: Make 1 chain stitch, then work 6dc into the foundation loop. Pull beginning end of yarn to tighten the foundation loop. Continue straight onto the next round, without making a join or turning chain.
Round 2: Work a dc2inc into each stitch of round 1.

Now proceed to the actual flower instructions (as shown in crochet book)
Rnd 1: 5dc into foundation loop. 5 sts
Rnd 2: Dc2inc five times. Ten sts
1sl st to finish.
Fasten off.

Eric and Ernie

In the Knit Kit, the amounts of each shade have been muddled up, they should read:

Knit Kit:
Hat – Eric
(A) shade 017, 1 (1, 2) 50g balls
(B) shade 006, 1 (1, 1) 50g ball
(C) shade 015, 1 (1, 1) 50g ball

Sweater – Ernie

(C) shade 015, 1 (1, 1) 50g ball
