Pattern Updates

We know how frustrating it can be when a knitting project runs into problems. If we become aware of an error in one of our patterns, an instruction that's confusing, a discontinued yarn or just a piece of helpful advice, here's where we'll post it. Just click on the relevant cover.

Philippa

There is an error on Row 6 of this pattern, it should read:

k2, p2, k2, (p4, k4) four times, p4, k2, p2, k2

Row 8 is correct

Cailyn

We are very grateful to reader Zoe Hoare (and her mum!) who have suggested the following amendment to the ribbed collar:

FRONT AND BACK NECKBANDS
On all decrease rows, to keep the integrity of the rib, the shaping should be moved outwards by two stitches on either side. This can be done very simply by subtracting two stitches from the ribbed section at each end of the row and by adding four stitches to the central ribbed section. In other words, if you’re knitting the cardigan in the first size, your first decrease row should read like this:

Next row: Rib 138 (not 140) sts, p2, k2, p2, k2tog, p2, k2, p2, rib 10 sts, p2, k2, p2, k2tog, p2, k2, p2, rib 42 (not 38) sts, p2, k2, p2, k2tog, p2, k2, p2, rib 10 sts, p2, k2, p2, k2tog, p2, k2, p2, rib 138 (not 140) sts. 390 sts

Continue to use the same adjusted figures for every decrease row, working all other instructions as given. This works for all sizes.
