To Make Up
Weave in all ends. Using knitted bag as a pattern, cut same number of pieces of waterproof fabric, adding a seam allowance on all edges.
Sew lining pieces together adding pockets for bottles if so desired. Place a piece of stiff cardboard in bottom of bag and secure at each corner. Place lining inside bag, with WS together, and carefully cut around shape of handles. Slip stitch lining to bag along all top edges and around handle opening.
Cut bamboo canes to correct length and insert through channels at top of bag as shown

Loosen up
A common instruction in knitting patterns is to cast off loosely. This can be achieved by using a needle at least two sizes bigger than the project’s needle size. Another method is to use an elastic cast off method such as the one explained in the following instructions:
1) Work one stitch. Knit next stitch onto RH needle
2) Insert LH needle into two stitches on RH needle, on top of right needle
3) Knit the two sts together tbl
4) Continue in this way to create a stretchy cast off
