Quilting your blanket: To secure the knitted part to the fabric, the designer has quilted along the seamsTo do this you could either use a normal cotton (we recommend a 100% cotton) or a perle cotton which would give the finished item extra strength.

Press the seams lightly from the WSCut a rectangle of cotton fabric that meas 3cm larger all round than the blanket, then press under a 3cm seam along each edgePin fabric to back of blanket so it lies just within castoff edges and slip stitch togPin two layers tog at 10cm intervals, smoothing out backing fabric, then work a round of quilting sts along the inside edge of borderQuilt along each vertical seam (see Knit wise on prev page) then along horizontal joins between blocks LK
