What you need to know

Val Pierce’s cute pup is ready for christmas fun!

With his pointy hat and elf collar, this party pooch is full of festive cheer. He’s relatively straightforward to make but there is a spot of colourwork on the head. Use a separate ball of yarn for each colour section on the row. If you’re giving Tommy to a small child, omit the bells and make sure all the pieces are attached very securely.

Pattern Correction:
The rows have been accidentally mis-numbered on the Head:
Row 3 should be Row 4, Row 5 should be Row 6, Row 7 should be Row 8.

Work the Tail as folls:
Using 3.75mm needles and yarn A, cast on 20 sts
[] Beg with a k (RS) row, work eight rows in st st
[] Next row: (k2tog, k3) to end. 16 sts
[] Work five rows in st st
[] Next row: (k2tog, k2) to end. 12 sts
[] Work 11 rows in st st
Change to yarn B
[] Work six rows in st st
[] Next row: (k2tog, k1) to end. Eight sts
[] Work three rows in st st
[] Next row: (k2tog) to end. Four sts
[] Next row: p
[] Cut yarn leaving a tail, thread through rem sts, pull tight and fasten off
