Yarn Shop Day 2016 - Is your local yarn shop involved?

With six weeks to go until Yarn Shop Day 2016, local retailers are busy signing up and getting ready to welcome you yarn enthusiasts to their stores!

On April 30th 2016, knitting shops across the country will host special events including workshops, give away goodie bags, offer big discounts, host pop-up shops and give free patterns to customers who visit on the day.

Aiming to highlight all that’s great about your local yarn stockist, Yarn Shop Day showcases the very best yarn shops across the UK and Southern Ireland. Last year’s event saw over 200 shops taking part and this year is set to be the best yet.

This year, we’re so pleased to be organising the event in partnership with the Campaign for Wool and British Wool Marketing Board. Their patron, HRH The Prince of Wales is dedicated to raising awareness about the benefits offered by wool, with a special emphasis on British wool.

The central message of Yarn Shop Day is support for local retailers, which links perfectly with the British Wool Marketing Board’s aim to promote homegrown, locally-produced fibre.
