Introducing Yarn Shop Day 2014

Celebrate the wonderful services provided by local yarn shops by visiting your nearest Yarn Shop Day event on Saturday 3rd May 2014.

Where would we be without our local yarn shops? So many of us rely on them for their personal advice, expert recommendations, and even as opportunities to meet new people. Here at Let’s Knit, we think that yarn shops form the cornerstone of the knitting industry, and for that reason, we want to celebrate them!

There’s been a hive of activity in the Let’s Knit offices over the last few months, as we’ve been getting ready to launch our new Love Your Yarn Shop campaign, alongside our sister mag Let’s Get Crafting. We’ll be running the campaign throughout 2014, with the main party taking place on Saturday 3rd May – now officially known as Yarn Shop Day!

We’ve been itching to tell you about our plans for the big day. Participating stores will be hosting events from free tea and biscuits, to visits from star names in the knitting industry. There will also be discounts, workshops and stunning window displays. So get down to your local shop and get involved!

LK editor Sarah Neal says: “We are delighted to launch the Love Your Yarn Shop and Yarn Shop Day campaigns, and we can’t wait to hear what exciting events stores are planning for 3rd May 2014!”

Let’s Get Crafting editor Ella Johnston agrees, adding: “We know that the crafty community will really get behind Love Your Yarn Shop and Yarn Shop Day, and look forward to celebrating our local stores – a truly valuable resource for knitters and crocheters.”

Why not ask your local yarn shop if they are planning an event? Alternatively, if you run your own yarn shop and are interested in getting involved, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
