What you need to know

Learn how to knit adorable peas in a pod with this easy, beginner-friendly pattern!

Soft, squeezable and undeniably cute, this little veggie playset is sure to be a hit. The peas are quick and simple to knit too, using a classic DK yarn. The increasing and decreasing on the peas means that once you gather the top edge, they can easily be sewn into a round shape. Practise embroidering the faces to make sure you get a good expression.

What do I need?

Yarn: Stylecraft Special DK, shades 1821 Grass Green, 18g, 1826 Kelly Green, 20g; 2ply, Black, oddments
Needles: 4mm
Safety toy stuffing
Tapestry needle

Sizing

Pod: 25cm long
Pea: 6cm diameter

Top knit tip

To get a smooth finish on your toys, tease the stuffing apart before using it. Layer up smaller sections of filling as this will avoid clumps. Roll the peas between your hands to shape them into nice, round balls.
