Little ones can make some serious mess and mums know how important it is to protect dainty clothes. Lucinda Ganderton's crochet apron is the perfect solution, combining pretty with practical. If you're making it for a boy, substitute the pink shades for green and blue or whatever their favourite colours may be. The cotton yarn used can be machine washed and tumble dried making it easy to clean when the inevitable splashes and spillages occur.

For people using a Mac or an iPad, remember you will need a zip file app to download the pattern. Check out iZip, a free program that you can download onto your device.

Don't forget to save your PDFs to your computer or tablet device as soon as it has been downloaded.
