This simple knitting pattern will have you and your little one looking adorable in matching alpaca hats.
Who doesn’t love an alpaca! With their curly hair and sweet faces, they’re a popular choice here at LKT HQ. Designer Nicola Valiji has embraced the alpaca’s Peruvian roots with these fabulous earflap hats, modelled after the animal in question. There are sizes for adults and children and they’re super easy to knit, growing quickly due to the aran weight yarn.

Top knit tip
Stitch holders look like giant safety pins and you can use them to keep your stitches ‘live’ while you are working on a different section. Open up the holder and insert the bar into your stitches as if you were going to purl them, then slide them off your needle onto the holder. Later on, you’ll be able to knit these stitches straight from the holder.
