Welcome to another monthly update of our charity highlights, where we round up stories from charities calling for your help!
We know that you are a very giving and charitable bunch, so scroll down to find out how you can help. If you are a member of the Let’s Knit Together private Facebook group, don’t forget to let us know what you’ve been making for charity so we can add your pictures and comments to the blog.
Knit and Natter
Versus Arthritis is a charity that campaigns for arthritis to be seen as a priority, and supports those suffering from the condition. Among the many fundraising ideas on its website is a Knit and Natter – which we yarn-lovers are jolly good at! Versus Arthritis would love for you to get together with friends and family for a knitty coffee morning to raise money for this fantastic charity. For support with your fundraising efforts, contact fundraising@versusarthritis.org
Jazzy Jumpers
What if your meticulously knitted Christmas jumpers could also help raise money for an amazing charity? Well, turns out they can! The tenth annual Christmas Jumper Day is on 10th December, and to help support disadvantaged children you can join in with the campaign by donating £2 and donning your best festive jumper for the day. It’s a great excuse to get knitting a new one! Head to savethechildren.org.uk for more info.
Dogs For Cats
Let’s Knit reader Helen Rees has pioneered a fantastic way of raising funds for her local Cats Protection charity in Carmarthenshire… selling knitted dog jumpers! They sell so well that they would love for more to be donated to the branch. They’ll accept any size and prefer dark or bright colours over pastels. Email catsprotectioncarmarthenshire@gmail.com for more information and to find out the address to send your dog jumpers to.
