International Textile Festival
31st July - 5th August
The Shetland Arts organisation has arranged an International Textile Festival with a Nordic theme that will include textile tours, gallery talks and networking events.
Wool dyeing workshop
Learn how to dye yarn using Kool-Aid dyes at The Secret Garden in Chelmsford, Essex. Yarn and dye will be provided.
Learn to knit…socks!
An introduction to the highly addictive art of sock knitting at The Fibreworks Oxford. Working on a miniature sock in the workshop allows you to tackle all the essential skills – knitting in the round, turning the heel and grafting the toe.
Lazy Sunday Knitting
If you’re looking for a place to relax and knit all day, head over to Mr Darcey’s Cottage. There will be yarn and needles if you need a new project, or help on hand if you’re stuck on your latest one.
Chilterns Craft and Design Show
23rd - 26th August
A fantastic day out for all the family this summer at The Stonor Park House and Gardens. There will be an array of crafts people, demonstrations, displays and live music that will keep the whole family happy.
Glastonbury Wool Festival
24th - 25th August
Celebrate the best of Britain’s sheep and alpacas at this year’s festival. The festival will commence with their annual sheep and alpaca run down their High Street, followed by exhibitions, demonstrations and a local produce fair.
Knitalong Festival at Toft Alpaca
Sit back and knit in the wonderful grounds of Toft Alpaca whilst listening to folk music from Lisbee Stainton. Enjoy farm tours, a barbecue and a preview of their autumn/winter collection with exclusive discounts.
