Twiddlemuffs, twiddlemitts, fiddlemuffs – there are so many names for them, but they all do one very important thing; keeping the hands of people living with dementia busy as they often have restless hands. Any knitter can make one and there’s plenty of care homes and hospitals who would be thrilled at your donation.

Twiddlemuffs often feature buttons, beads, textured fabrics, ribbons, but you can choose and personalise it for the recipient, maybe even adding pockets or other unique elements. We’ve got a brilliant pattern on our website for you to use and adapt:
