The yarns have been accidentally switched in the written instructions.
You should use:
Yarn A for Rows 3-4, 7-8, 11-12
Yarn B for Rows 1-2, 5-6, 9-10

Afternoon Tea (page 46)

On the Large triangle, work as given until you have six stitches remaining, ending after a Row 5, then work as follows:
[] Next row: k2, p2, k2
[] Next row: k2, skpo, k2. Five sts
[] Next row: k
[] Next row: k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1. Three sts
[] Next row: k
[] Next row: sl 1, k2tog, psso. One st
[] Fasten off
